Families & Education Levy Campaign (www.familiesandeducationlevy.org) is looking for 100
school-aged kids to be in our TV commercial. Details are as follows:
The Families & Education Levy Campaign will be filming a commercial on the
steps of Garfield High School on Sunday, August 28, 2011, and is seeking the
participation of 100 kids, ages 5 to 18.

BACKGROUND:
On November 8, 2011, voters will be asked to renew and enhance the expiring
Families & Education Levy. If approved, the seven-year, $232 million measure
will provide critical funding for:
• Enhanced academic programs at schools with a high proportion of
low-income students;
• Early-learning programs that improve academic success;
• School-based health clinics proven to increase learning and graduation
rates;
• Extra learning time and summer school programs for students struggling to
advance from middle to high school;
• Academic & college readiness programs for middle and high school
students.
